On ordinary mornings, teachers stand at the classroom doors to welcome students with a cheerful “Good morning” and a warm smile. Today, the roles were gently reversed. Students arrived early with heartfelt wishes they had carefully prepared, ready to greet and thank the teachers who support and inspire them every day.
At 7:40 a.m., before the school day had fully begun, the South Gate was already filled with music, laughter, and a group of students waiting there bright and early. A cheerful “Happy Teachers’ Day!” and a small gift prepared and handed over by students made the teachers’ first steps onto campus feel a little more special today.
On most days, it is the teachers who wait at the school gate or classroom door, watching students arrive one by one. Today, the roles were reversed. The students were there to welcome the people who accompany and support them every day.
The gifts may have been small, and the ceremony simple. But being remembered, being waited for, and hearing a sincere “Thank you, teacher” — perhaps that is the loveliest way to begin Teachers’ Day.

Since it was a celebration, a simple “Happy Teachers’ Day” was only the beginning. The school had also prepared a few special performances for the occasion.
Tony opened with Just the Two of Us, followed by students from the Primary and Middle Schools, who brought everyone a lively song-and-dance performance of The First Lesson of the New Term. With music and movement filling the air, the familiar campus suddenly felt a little brighter and more playful. On a morning usually marked by the sound of the school bell, there was a little more melody today.
For once, the teachers did not need to teach. They could simply sit back and enjoy being part of the audience.
They watched the students sing and dance, and saw those familiar faces from the classroom step onto the stage with confidence and care, putting on a performance especially for their teachers.

The morning also brought warm Teachers’ Day wishes from the school leadership.
The Co-Principals and members of the management team visited teachers across the campus, sharing their greetings and appreciation in person.
A teacher’s daily work rarely comes with dramatic moments. More often, it is found in lesson after lesson, stack after stack of assignments, and patient explanations given time and again. It is in office lights already on early in the morning, conversations that continue after school, the quiet smile when a student makes progress, and the patience to begin again when growth comes with a few bumps along the way.
So many stories of education are hidden in these ordinary days.
And today, we simply want to say: thank you, teachers, for all that you do. Thank you for bringing knowledge into the classroom, and for bringing patience, kindness, curiosity and passion into every day of our students’ growth.

Of course, no celebration is complete with only “food for thought.”
By lunchtime, a special Teachers’ Day buffet was ready, and it was finally time for teachers to pause and recharge.
For a little while, laptops could be closed, lesson plans set aside, and thoughts like “I still have a meeting later,” “That document isn’t finished yet,” or “I have a class first thing this afternoon” could wait.
Today, having a proper lunch was important too.
Around the table were colleagues who work side by side every day, chatting about classes and life, students and the little things that had made them smile recently. Teachers’ Day may come with flowers and warm wishes, but it also deserves a lively lunch shared and enjoyed together.

Leaders from Anzhen Subdistrict also visited the school to meet with teachers and extend their warm Teachers’ Day greetings and best wishes.
Their kind words and sincere care added another layer of warmth to this special day.
During the visit, the delegation learned more about the school’s teaching and learning, as well as the daily work of its teachers. They also expressed their appreciation and respect for those who continue to devote themselves to education with dedication and care.
This support from beyond the campus was a meaningful reminder to our teachers that their everyday commitment and hard work are seen, valued, and deeply appreciated.
In education, many of the warmest moments are not marked by grand occasions. Sometimes, it is simply hearing a student say, “I get it!” after finally working through a difficult problem. Sometimes, it is an unexpected message from a student years after graduation, or a cheerful “Hello, teacher!” called out from across the campus.
For teachers, the days spent teaching with care and walking alongside students may seem ordinary at the time, but little by little, they become part of a child’s journey through life.
Today, we send our warmest “Happy Teachers’ Day” to every teacher on our campus.
Thank you for always standing beside our students — helping them understand a problem and discover a wider world; staying with them through setbacks and celebrating their growth; and accompanying them as they move from hesitation towards confidence, possibility, and a broader horizon.
To all teachers at Wuxi United International School:
Happy Teachers’ Day!
May there always be passion in your teaching,
warmth in the people around you,
and little moments of joy worth remembering,
even on the busiest of days.
