At the tail end of August, the air is adorned with the joy of reunion. On this day, the campus is gently awakened by crisp laughter and vibrant energy. The children, transformed into bold explorers, hold in their hands “treasure maps” leading to the realm of knowledge, writing vivid footnotes on the first page of the new semester.
They linger at one fascinating checkpoint after another，their journey of exploration teaching them to listen and share, as sparks of wisdom glitter through collaboration. Every successful check-in becomes a cherished milestone of growth, converging into a river of self-assurance.
The autumn light is just right, the future full of promise. On this journey set sail with joy, all the curiosity for knowledge, the longing for friendship, and the hope for growth blend into the most poetic prologue under the clear autumn sky.
September 1st，Wuxi United International School grandly held its “Every Child is a Shining Star” first lesson of the new semester. The event was centered around the theme of “starlight” and divided into four splendid chapters: “The First Spark of Starlight,” “The Nourishment of Starlight,” “The Blooming of Starlight,” and “The Dazzling Starlight,” symbolizing that every WUIS student, like a unique star, is discovered, nurtured, and ultimately shines with the brightest light under the WUIS sky.
As the ceremony began, a heartwarming sight unfolded: sixth-grade students gently guided the youngest newcomers, hand in hand, into the venue. Their bright smiles and curious eyes were met with warm applause and cheerful encouragement from the entire school community. In that moment, love and welcome filled the room.The ceremony began warmly with the playful animation Nobody. The cute little monsters in the film instantly ignited the atmosphere, and the children eagerly shared their favorite characters. Amid laughter and joy, they felt the unique personality and charm of each character. Following that, a video showcasing the school’s public welfare activities vividly demonstrated how WUIS students use “small starlight to illuminate others,” spreading care and responsibility throughout the community.
Second-grade students transformed into little monsters from Nobody and, along with other student representatives, took the stage to passionately recite the poem “The Unique Light.” With their innocent yet firm voices, they declared that every individual is an irreplaceable existence in the magnificent galaxy of stars. The division then introduced the educational philosophy of “WUIS Star, Every Child is a Shining Star.” In the interactive session, the children enthusiastically shared their “brightest qualities,” confidently showcasing their talents and characteristics.
In the second chapter, “Nourishing Starlight,” Ms. Hazel took the stage to introduce the much-anticipated “WUIS Starlight Day” program. This innovative initiative aims to provide personalized care and guidance for each student through the mentor system.
The climax of the event came in the third chapter, “Blooming Starlight.” The department officially launched the upgraded “WUIS Star” mascot and medal system. Ms. Fiona then took the stage to explain the profound meanings behind the mascot and medals, which represent the different qualities of excellence advocated by WUIS. To honor Ms. Fiona’s outstanding design, Principal Meng presented her with a certificate of honor.
Following this, all students recited the WUIS Declaration in a solemn ceremony: “WUIS Stars, we are all shining stars!” The resolute oath echoed in the venue, showcasing the collective sense of honor and determination to pursue excellence among WUIS students.
At the end of the chapter, the host introduced the updated campus cultural arrangements, including the WUIS Star Cultural Wall, the WUIS Youth theme update, the moral education evaluation system wall, and the class WUIS Beauty Cultural Wall, creating a comprehensive and immersive educational environment. Through an interaction, students reviewed and clarified the moral education system, which is closely related to their daily behavior norms and comprehensive semester evaluations.
In the final chapter, “Dazzling Starlight,” the event entered an exciting lucky draw segment. The principal’s office presented lucky winners with gifts that carried beautiful expectations, along with blessings from Nobody. At the conclusion of the ceremony, Principal Meng delivered a heartfelt and powerful speech, encouraging all students to maintain kindness, courage, and curiosity, to face challenges fearlessly, and to chase their dreams. Under the WUIS starry sky, they should strive to become the brightest star.
The opening ceremony concluded perfectly with the warm melody of Nobody. The new semester has begun, and may all WUIS students carry this light and hope, stay grounded, and gaze at the stars, blooming their unique light in the journey of the new semester!
