Beginning a new chapter with the glow of autumn as our prologue, the International High School of Wuxi United International School held its grand opening ceremony for the 2025-2026 academic year in the grand theater. All teachers and students gathered together, bringing diverse cultural backgrounds and shared dreams to embark on a new journey of academic and personal growth.

Under the guidance of their Head of Grade and homeroom teachers, the grade 9 students entered the grand theater and officially joined the big family of international high school.
Mr. Meng Xiaodong, the Co-Principal, delivered a speech that introduced the philosophy of education, highlighted the objectives of the curriculum, and focused on student growth and future choices. He conveyed the school’s educational philosophy, which emphasizes holistic education, respects individual differences, and aims to cultivate future international talents with the freedom to choose and the capacity for happiness.

The ceremony began with all high school teachers taking the stage in formal attire, delivering a vibrant and warm musical performance Don’t Worry, Be Happy to welcome all students back to school with their beautiful voices. The atmosphere was instantly ignited, filled with applause and cheers, creating a warm and touching ambiance.

A new semester brings a new atmosphere, and the power of role models is more important than ever. During the ceremony, we proudly introduced Prefects who had demonstrated outstanding achievements in academics, leadership, and community service in the previous academic year, as well as the newly elected Head Students. We believe that under their guidance, all students will be inspired to strive for excellence and collectively foster a positive, supportive, and collaborative campus environment in the new academic year.
Our education extends far beyond the classroom. During the ceremony, the school highlighted programs designed to cultivate students’ comprehensive qualities and spirit of challenge.

The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award
As a globally recognized youth achievement award, The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award encourages students to challenge themselves through four areas: skill development, physical recreation, voluntary service, and adventurous journey. We encourage all students to actively participate, discover their potential through exploration, and develop resilience that will benefit them for life.
ECA and CAS Program
This semester, we have introduced an even more diverse range of ECA options. ECA is the perfect platform for exploring interests, developing talents, and forming lasting friendships. We look forward to every student finding their own stage here.
Dr. Max delivered an inspiring speech to all teachers and students. He began by extending the warmest welcome to both new and returning students. He elaborated on the importance of Healthy Minds and Healthy Hearts. Dr. Max’s passionate and wise words deeply moved everyone present, providing direction for the students’ new semester journey and filling them with motivation.

The opening ceremony concluded successfully in a warm and enthusiastic atmosphere. It was not just a ritual but a rally that united strength and uplifted spirits.
The canvas of the new academic year has been unfurled, awaiting every student to paint it with effort and wisdom. Let us remember the guidance of our teachers, mirror ourselves against role models, explore both inside and outside the classroom, and bravely pursue our dreams.
May all high school students forge ahead with determination, walk hand in hand, and together create an even more brilliant and splendid future in the new semester!
