Spring breezes nurture the blooming flowers, and craftsmanship builds dreams for a new chapter. In this season of new beginnings, as the earth awakens and everything is renewed, Wuxi United International School held a teacher professional development training session on March 15th. This event, focusing on the application of artificial intelligence in teaching and educational wisdom, injected new momentum into the professional growth of teachers and empowered the school’s high-quality development.
At the beginning of the event, Principal Meng emphasized that all teacher development must ultimately return to the true essence of education. When teachers stand on the high ground of professional development, they can understand student growth with a broader perspective and build a more scientific system of nurturing. Every breakthrough by a teacher is the cornerstone of the school’s development, and every inch of progress made by the school will ultimately nourish and enrich the students. The school hopes that every teacher will be both a learner and a creator, forming a continuously evolving educational vitality through sharing and co-creation.
Becoming a Wise Teacher in the New EraIn the morning, all teachers attended a workshop led by Professor Lu Xun on the practical application of AI technology in teaching. From the concepts to strategies and tools of artificial intelligence, the session focused on grasping the pulse of the times and exploring the symbiotic relationship between technology and education. During the workshop, teachers developed a clearer framework for exploring AI-assisted teaching design, improving educational management, and progressively integrating technology with teaching research.

Becoming a Kind and Firm TeacherIn the afternoon, to further enhance teachers’ professional skills and help them master scientific and effective positive discipline methods, teachers attended a workshop led by Teacher Jin Junhong on classroom positive discipline. Starting with the core concepts of positive discipline, Teacher Jin organized brainstorming sessions and encouraged teachers to combine their daily work experience to truly understand the child’s perspective. This helped teachers analyze how they could truly become “kind yet firm” educators. Teachers should build the house of positive discipline, communicate equally with students, and focus on long-term effects rather than short-term control.
Though the training has concluded, the journey continues. Throughout the event, all teachers at WUIS gained new tools for connecting with the times and new methods for teaching management. We believe that the teachers will bring these insights into their daily teaching, incorporating the core principles of positive discipline to provide students with a sense of value and belonging, and will continue to sail forward in the winds of education, together heading toward the next journey of mountains and seas!
