What if math were no longer just dry formulas and exercises?
On October 21st, the Primary School Department of Wuxi United International School provided the answer — a grand “Math Carnival” filled with laughter and excitement! Here, numbers danced, logic played games, and thinking came alive. Under the slogan “Play with Math, Grow with Joy,” students embarked on a wonderful mathematical adventure.
Look! The Grade 1 “Little Architects” are building bridges and towers with straws and blocks, while “Monopoly” players strategize on their game boards. From finding adjacent numbers in “Hopscotch” to identifying overlaps with “Fun Ice Cream Sticks,” the magical world of math quietly unfolded through play.

The Grade 2 challenges were even more diverse! Students delivered “food orders” by following directions in A Bite of China, tested their reflexes in the Number Grab Game, and explored geometric beauty through Tangram transformations. Who knew math could be this “tasty” and this fun?

With the rigor of Sudoku, the strategy of Huarong Dao, and the quick thinking of 24 Points, the third graders became little logicians navigating mazes of numbers and shapes. Every solved puzzle was a celebration of their thinking skills.

On the Speed Tic-Tac-Toe field, strategy met lightning speed; in Hands and Feet Huarong Dao, body and brain worked in perfect harmony. The Grade 4 arena was not only a competition of knowledge but also a test of wisdom and courage.

From the careful logic of Minesweeper to the layered challenges of the Tower of Hanoi and the ultimate 4×4 Huarong Dao, the Grade 5 “advanced players” relied on sharp reasoning and spatial imagination, fully enjoying the thrill of problem-solving.

The most spectacular event was Grade 6’s Human Gomoku! Students themselves became the game pieces, engaging in strategic battles on a giant board. The excitement of Number Bomb and the nail-biting focus of Jenga showcased the teamwork and mental agility of WUIS students.

The Carnival Ends, But Growth Continues
As the laughter and cheers faded, what remained in the children’s hearts was a newfound love for mathematics, confidence in independent thinking, and the warmth of teamwork. This is the true essence of “Engage with Math, Grow Happily.”
Wuxi United International School’s journey of exploration continues. In the future, we will keep illuminating classrooms with creativity, allowing the beauty of every subject to light the path toward a future full of possibilities.
