WUIS devotes itself to building an all-round growth paradise for students, enabling them to take root in the fertile soil of disciplinary knowledge and bloom in the sunshine of art and sports practice. Eventually, students will grow into well-rounded talents with humanistic literacy, scientific spirit and healthy physique. On September 25th, all teachers and students from Primary gathered at the Grand Theatre to discuss about the theme of September – Balanced.

Through the creative presentation of the five chapters of “Morality, Intelligence, Physical Education, Aesthetics, and Labor” (the five aspects of holistic education), every sixth-grade student shone in their area of strength. They not only showcased their personal growth stories but also fully interpreted the connotation of “all-round development”.

Backbone of Great Nation
This Virtue Assembly helped us fully understand football king Pelé. In football, he became an all-round legend with over 1,000 goals and three World Cup wins. Off the field, he engaged in charity—helping secure a 48-hour ceasefire in the Nigerian Civil War via an exhibition match—and post-retirement promoted football culture and athletes’ rights. His professional feats and social responsibility embodied the value of all-round development.

WUIS English Reading Marathon
As this semester’s growth story unfolds, the soul-nourishing WUIS English Reading Marathon has officially kicked off! Ms. Grace detail the activity’s purpose and plan: linking language learning and wisdom exploration via words, it offers immersive English reading and nourishes spiritual/intellectual growth. From curated book lists to check-ins, and sharing to exhibitions, every part carries the “empowering growth through reading” goal, marking the start of a fun, rewarding English reading feast.

Politeness
In WUIS, every corner is overflowing with the breath of respect and friendship. Under the cultivation of civilised etiquette, students not only learn how to get along with others, but also understand the importance of self-cultivation. This is not only a temple of knowledge, but also a paradise for personality growth, so that the flower of civilisation blossoms quietly in the heart of every student. The virtue this month is “Politeness”. 25 students of “Politeness in WUIS” and a class of “Politeness in WUIS” were selected.
