Mr. Thomas and Ms. Elva from the first grade delivered speeches on the theme of “Reflection.”
Reflecting on the world means taking in what you have experienced and thinking about it. What was your experience? What was good? What was bad? What was beautiful? Reflecting on the world can give us a deeper understanding of the world we live in.
Reflecting on ourselves means thinking about what you have done and who you are. It means asking about what you are doing and how you are doing it. What do you find easy? What do you find hard? What are you learning? Reflecting on yourself means gaining an understanding of your actions and yourself.
Reflecting on new ideas means thinking about new ways of understanding and challenging what you think. You can ask why you think about things a certain way. How do you know something? Can you see it in another way? Does it make sense? Reflecting on new ideas meaning being critical and developing your thinking.
Being reflexive means being able to change. What can you change in your life? What should stay the same? How much should you do certain things? And why should you do them? Being reflexive means being open to change and thinking about how to live differently.
Reflecting is an important part of our life. By reflecting we can live better lives. It helps us understand ourselves and understand the world we live in. As students in this school, you need to reflect on your actions and ask how you can do better, understand more, and help others. Take moments today, this week, and over the next month to think about how you can change your life for the better.
