Wuxi United International School has always been committed to providing a safe and friendly campus ecology and environment for all staff, students, and parents, as we are well aware of the profound impact this has on every student and every family. To this end, the school specially invited a lawyer expert, Mr. Li Xiaomao, to conduct a themed training session on “How to Protect Students, Teachers, and the School”. The purpose of this training is to consolidate and continuously improve the awareness of campus safety among faculty and staff, and to learn professional knowledge related to campus safety.
01 Introduction
Mr. Li Xiaomao
Member of the Political Consultative Conference of Minhang District, Shanghai
Deputy Director and Senior Partner of Shanghai Zhongxia Law Firm
Deputy Director of the Education Research Committee of the Shanghai Bar Association
Long-term legal advisor to the Education Bureau of Minhang District, Shanghai, and over a hundred primary and secondary schools and government institutions in Shanghai
During the training, Mr. Li used vivid case studies to explain how to identify and prevent school bullying, as well as how to better care for and support students, colleagues, and parents in daily life. As a school that advocates the values of respect, tolerance, and kindness, Xuzhou United will continue to cultivate students’ sense of social responsibility and the spirit of caring for others through courses and student activities.
Parent-school collaboration is also key to ensuring school safety. Parents should pay attention to changes in their children’s behavior and emotions, which facilitates the timely identification of issues and the taking of measures, and communicate with the school in a timely manner; parental involvement is crucial for cultivating children’s character and abilities.
The theme of this training also actively responds to our school’s learner profile of “Caring” The IB learner profile includes “Caring” as an important descriptor of global citizens. Understanding and practicing this theme promotes all WUISers to continuously build a campus community that cares for and supports others.
WUIS calls on all educators, parents, and members of society to work together to truly integrate the concept of “caring for others” into educational practice; creating a safer, more harmonious, and loving environment for children to grow up in is everyone’s responsibility.
