7th April, we now have all of our WUIS Secondary school students back in school for face to face teaching. WUIS is the first campus in the Xiehe group to have students return to school on their campus.
It is a very important moment for our school, SUIS and schools world-wide. It is an amazing achievement that China has eradicated the spread of the Covid-19 virus and saved so many lives. Our school is the first SUIS school to open to students. We give hope and encouragement to the rest of the world that is now struggling with the Covid-19 virus.
At WUIS we are taking every procedure to ensure the safety of our students and school community.
Our students in school have new classrooms to learn in which are only used by their own grade level. We have a strict and frequent sanitising procedure for our school facilities. All students are required to remain one metre apart at all times and have to wear the masks all the time. In the canteen students have a specific seat to sit at and they all face the same direction in order to further protect them. Students have alcohol hand gel in school at the school gate, the canteen and also in their classrooms, all in order to protect our students and staff.
On the first day of school all students received training on how to wash their hands and learnt more about the virus.
After this the students started back to normal classes. The teachers reviewed and supported the students with subject content they learnt online in February.
All our students were very happy to see each other, and our teachers were very pleased to again be interacting with their students.
