On Friday 6th September we had a formal assembly open to our parents. At this assembly we welcomed our Grade 7 students into Grade 7 and our Grade 10 students into Grade 10.
We had presentations from Chinese Co-Principal Angel Lin and the Head of Secondary, Vice Principal, Lucinda Holmes.
Ms Angel Lin announced the brand-new whole school, student code of conduct and our new WUIS scholarship.
At the end there were performances by our students with the professional musicians from Maestro Music. Our student performers were Harry Ju, Devin Zhu, Gary Ma and Jason Gan.

WUIS is now an experienced IB World School, soon to be one of the only schools in Wuxi offering the IB Diploma to both Chinese nationals and international students. We are now entering our next stage as a school, into an established and experienced IB World School. In 2020 we will have our first IB Evaluation, an event that happens every 5 years for IB DP schools, to maintain our status as a top school offering one of the best international curriculums in the world.
Our students go on to some of the best university world-wide, these are just some of the universities our students have been accepted into.
I challenge all of our students to do even better, to be the best that they possibly can and to make the world a better place.
Our IGCSE programme is an ideal preparation for our students to get into the IB programme. 98% of our students took six IGCSE exams or more, we are not here to just get top grades in a few subjects but to ensure our students have the foundation needed to succeed in the challenging IB DP programme where students take six subjects plus, IB Core.
Our talented bilingual students, fluent in both English and Chinese attain a bilingual diploma. 69% of our grade 12 students in the May 2019 cohort attained a bilingual diploma compared to a worldwide average of 23%.
This academic year we will be Graduating our fourth group of high-school students. We are here to support all of students to reach their full potential with an academically challenging curriculum helping them to get to the university destination of their dreams.
