Educational research indicates that one of the strongest indicators of student’s success is the quality of the teacher. At WUIS we invest heavily in our teachers. Before our students came to school, we set aside two weeks of teacher training; a week for our new teachers and a week with all of our teachers together.
We were very pleased to meet our new expatriate teachers and new Chinese national teachers. It was wonderful to welcome them all to our school community.
We provided our teachers with P4C training, Philosophy for Children training to both our Chinese staff and our Expatriate staff. Philosophy for Children has been proven to improve educational outcomes in students. It is also excellent preparation for our IB Diploma Theory of Knowledge, which we offer in both English and Chinese. We also provided our staff with Safeguarding training to ensure the highest standards of child protection are maintained in the school. We also provided the staff with IT training in ISAMS, our secondary database, and Managebac.
We value our staff and want to support them to be the most effective teachers possible to our students.
