On the 23rd and 24th March our WUIS secondary school students went to represent the school at the Euro Model United Nations at the French German International School in Shanghai.
Not only did our students participate but many of our WUIS students took important roles in the event.
The Model United Nations consisted of four assemblies: General Assembly, European Union, Environmental Committee and the Security Council.
From WUIS we had 16 students participate in the meetings.
Erica Geng was the Deputy President of the General Assembly.
Steven Huang was the President of the European Union Council
Lucky Shah was the Deputy President of the Environmental Committee
Jason Jung was the Deputy President of the Security Council
The experience in the Model United Nations develops students debating skills and improves their public speaking. It is quite challenging, and students have to work collaboratively in order to collectively make changes that improve the world. The skills demonstrated by the Model United Nations are much sought after by Universities. It also shows us our students’ true passion and caring for making the world a better place.
