Affiliated Kindergarten SUIS – Wuxi did a series of activities on how to stay green, we had some help from parents and children: at home, they’re learning how to care and protect the environment too!
At school, we integrated the concept of environmental protection into our daily activities. Our children served as the “Little Guardians of the Earth” – sorting garbage, learning how to save water, caring for the animals, etc.
In order for the children to understand the meaning of “green travel,” we organized a trip to the subway station. The staffs were very patient in introducing the safety measures when riding the subway and how to buy the tickets.
Our children made some artwork on how to protect and care for the earth. Look! They were up for sale! The money that we raised will be donated to the sanitation workers who keep our community clean.
We held our culminating activity about environmental protection last April 27. We wore our t-shirts printed with this year’s winning logo designed by our parents from the “Logo Making Contest” we recently had. Some activities included for the day were: Fashion Show, introduction of each age level – what they did to care for the environment, recited some poems and tell everyone about their cheer to protect Mother Earth. Parents and teachers encouraged the children to complete their journey. They tied green ribbon on the Moon Lake Bridge to show they care for the environment and hanged some green cards on the trees to express their gratitude to Mother Earth. Upon their return, children received a medal of accomplishment which made them very happy.。 Our activity did not end there as there are many games waiting for them in the school related to environmental protection.All donations money raised during the activity will be donated to the sanitation workers in Xi Shan District.
