Beneath the autumn sun and upon the green fields, the Wuxi United International School 2025 Autumn House Sports Day successfully concluded on November 5th, amidst the eager anticipation and active participation of all our students and staff. It was a spectacular showcase of strength and beauty, and a genuine connection of hearts and minds. Let’s take a moment to relive the unforgettable highlights!
Prior to the commencement of the Sports Day, the Western Returned Scholars Association (WRSA) of Xishan District made a donation of sports equipment to the school. This profound kindness and tangible support have injected new energy into the children’s athletic dreams.
The sports day then officially commenced with the playing of spirited melodies. Teams from each class, dressed in their brightly colored house T-shirts, entered the venue with confident, synchronized steps. Their loud chants and determined eyes fully showcased the vibrant and upward spirit of WUIS students.
At the opening ceremony, Mr. Meng Xiaodong, Co-Principal of the school, delivered an enthusiastic address. He began by expressing sincere gratitude to WRSA for their benevolent donation of sports equipment to the school. In his speech, Mr. Meng emphasized that sports are an indispensable part of school education, not only strengthening physical health but also fostering perseverance and team spirit among students. He encouraged all students to fully exert themselves on the field, showcase their abilities, and strive for excellence while embracing the joy and personal growth that sports bring.
The student athletes were undoubtedly the stars of the event.
The Wisdom of Teamwork: The unified effort in the Tug-of-War, the seamless coordination in the Frisbee, and the side-by-side cooperation in the Basketball all perfectly illustrated the true meaning of “Unity is Strength.”
The Bloom of Individual Talent: The swift figures on the track and the perfect arcs of the ping-pong and badminton showcased the ultimate blend of power and grace.
The Joy of Fun Events: The enthusiastic shouts during the Dragon Boat Race and the laughter during the games turned the entire venue into a sea of joy.
Every athlete was a testament to determination, and every cheer was a gesture of warm support. Our students not only competed with skill but also with great sportsmanship, earning honors and forging stronger friendships along the way.
After a day of intense competition, the final House points standings were settled. We extend our warmest congratulations to the Green House for ultimately achieving the highest score and winning the special award! Our applause also goes to every participant, and to the teachers and volunteers working behind the scenes – it was your collective effort that made this sports event so spectacular, safe, and well-organized.
Sweat reflects youth; perseverance builds dreams. Although the WUIS Secondary Section Autumn Sports Day has concluded, the spirit of sportsmanship lives on. Let us carry the determination, cooperation, and optimism demonstrated on the field into our future studies and daily lives.
