With the first snow in 2018, on November 2, positive discipline training courses: how to become a Buddhist style teacher (3) drew a satisfactory full stop. Under the leadership of Ms. Jin, WUIS homeroom teachers once again carried out a deep thought of the Buddhist style moisture.
The teachers quickly discussed in groups and reviewed the last two training contents and the most touching parts of the teachers.
Eight teachers were invited to role play parents, teachers and students. The teacher who role plays the two students has to confront the teachers and the parents who repeat: I’m a child, and I want to have a sense of belonging. In the first round, parents and teachers need to be bossy and critical of their children. In the second round, when the two sides faced each other again, they asked teachers and parents to tone down their words and treat their children kindly. Through the two rounds of role-playing, it actually had a great impact on every teacher present. It seemed to restore the critical side of myself when facing the children’s problems, see the children’s inner sadness and anxiety, and once again let the teachers deeply feel the importance of kindness and firmness.
Ms. Jin let the teachers share the most troubling question recently by the form of sticky notes. She led the teachers to stick their own problems in the four quadrants according to their own emotions and inner feelings, and analyzed the wrong purpose behind the children’s problem behaviors, some of which were seeking excessive attention, some of which were seeking power challenges, or revenge, or self-abandonment. By briefly introducing Adler’s goal theory and Freud’s causation theory, Ms. Jin concluded that children are actually pursuing their sense of value and belonging behind all kinds of problems and behaviors.
Class meeting process
How to hold a good class meeting has a very important impact on the creation of class atmosphere and problem solving, which can be said to be a sword. So, how to have a good class meeting? How to go to work? It is that teacher who take the students to simulate the work, make real experience and experience intuitively.
It is as if we are used to being treated well by others, or take it for granted. But sincere gratitude can bring us closer and make the world a little warmer. Why not? By encouraging the activities of the trees, the teachers seem to have found the initial choice of energy full when they were originally selected as the teacher.
Not long after Charlie came to class, his classmates sneered at him and were unfriendly. Every hurtful word they said to him could destroy him infinitely and make him want to escape. Ms. Jin asked the teachers to brainstorm how to know someone in the class had spent “Charlie’s day”, what we could say and do to help “Charlie”, and how to ask for help if we were Charlie.
