Inquiry learning is a teaching method based on constructivist theories that had its beginnings in the 1960s. It is said that children learn best when they are interested, motivated and involved in finding out and asking their own questions. This is the basis of inquiry learning.
Ultimately, through the regular use of the inquiry process, it is hoped that children will grow into people who constantly question the world around them and continually have an interest in finding out, i.e. who continue to learn throughout life.
